The Children's Garden Day Nursery is an Ofsted Outstanding day nursery located in Stamford's town centre. We have been providing exceptional and innovative childcare since 1998, specializing in every age group from babies to pre-school with a strong emphasis on outdoor learning.

We are recruiting for a nursery cook to join our team.

JOB PURPOSE:



To be responsible for the smooth running and maintenance of the kitchen.

To plan menus for the children, with the Nursery Manager, taking into consideration nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements.

To be responsible for all meals cooked on the nursery premises.

KEY AREAS



Working efficiently and effectively, planning, preparing and producing meals for the babies and children ensuring they meet all nutritional requirements.

To have a clear understanding of all dietary requirements of the babies and children in the nursery.

To amend the menu for parents / staff before session, if making any changes.

To maintain a safe, tidy and hygienic kitchen.

To take temperatures of foods cooked before serving to the children to ensure it is above 83 degrees Celsius.

To do the food shopping on a weekly basis, which includes needs from the baby, toddler and Montessori classrooms.

To complete all documentation such as food analysis charts, Safer Food Better Business, temperatures of appliances.

To attend training where appropriate such as Food Hygiene course.

To keep a check on the milk order / delivery.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.50-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 27.5 per week

Work Location: In person
