We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our busy nursery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food safety and culinary techniques, with experience in meal preparation and food preparation within our. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious and high-quality dishes for our children and staff.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations.
Assist in the planning of menus considering seasonal availability of ingredients.
Cater for children with allergies or intolerances.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
Skills
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Proficient in culinary skills, including meal preparation and cooking techniques.
Experience working in a kitchen or school kitchen preferred but not essential.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
A passion for cooking and a love of children.
