Little Lambs Day Nursery is looking for a cook to provide a nutritious and balanced diet for the children we care for.
All produce is locally sourced and fresh and all meals will need to prepared from scratch.
You will be in charge of your own kitchen and must adhere to the policies and procedures of the nursery, in compliance with the Environmental Health-Food safety health and safety guidelines and contributing to the highest possible Ofsted grading.
Good knowledge of dietary requirements and allergies is essential.
You will be given the opportunity to prepare the menus and the budget for the kitchen and work alongside our fantastic team and children.
Food Hygiene certification required and previous experience in a catering role.
30 hours per week, 6 hours per day Monday-Friday
Job Duties:
Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
Follow recipes and presentation specifications
Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards
Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment
Restock items as needed throughout the shift
Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards
Additional Duties:
Menu planning
Food shopping
Recording food temperatures
Preparing reports
All applicants will have to have an enhanced DBS and 2 previous employment references to adhere to our safer recruitment procedures.
