Job Description

We are looking for a part-time Cook / Housekeeper to join our Nursery team, providing healthy home cooked meals for children and staff. The successful candidate will job-share with an existing member of our team, working 15 - 20 hours over three or four days per week from 9am to 2pm.

You will have an interest in food and catering and be able to follow simple recipes. You will be able to work using your own initiative to prepare meals, pudding and snacks to our very high standards. You will have a clear record and be able to obtain a full DBS (enhanced police check). You will be bright, enthusiastic, well-presented with a positive attitude. You will be particularly attentive to cleanliness and hygiene. You will be able to communicate with the children, according to our protocols, as there will be daily opportunities for you to engage with under 5's during meals and weekly cookery sessions. You will be able to keep a kitchen organised, clean and hygienic to maintain our unbroken 5 STAR food hygiene rating. There are cleaning duties associated with this role so you must be prepared to undertake daily cleaning tasks to keep our Nursery clean, tidy and hygienic. You DO NOT need prior experience, though some knowledge of a working kitchen would be beneficial. You DO NOT need a qualification - we will train you in the role and help you to obtain the necessary qualifications.
The hours are 9.00-2.00 daily. There may be an opportunity to work additional hours occasionally.

The job is located at our Nursery in Hayfield, High Peak, Derbyshire, SK22 2JJ. You MUST live within an easy commute, taking into consideration Winter Weather conditions. Please check the location before you apply.
