Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food safety, with a keen interest in creating delicious dishes that our children will love. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall nursery experience.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food preparation and cooking areas are kept clean and organised, adhering to food safety regulations. Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management. Maintain equipment and utensils in good working condition, reporting any issues as necessary.
Skills
Proficient in culinary techniques and meal preparation methods. Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues. Ensuring children meals are present well. Previous experience in a similar role or kitchen environment is essential.
This role is for 2 days a week until November where it will then increase to full time due to our long standing cook retiring.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 12.60 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
