Job Description

We are looking for a warm, reliable, and experienced Nursery Cook to join our friendly team! Working in a busy and nurturing early years setting, you'll be responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious meals for our children aged 0-5

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare fresh, balanced meals and snacks in line with dietary requirements and allergies

Ensure excellent standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen

Maintain accurate food safety and hygiene records

Work closely with the Nursery Manager to plan menus and manage food supplies

To prepare, cook and serve Lunch for approximately 40-50 children aged 0 to 5 years daily and to prepare snacks for morning, afternoon and prep tea in a busy nursery.

About You:

Previous experience in a similar cooking role (nursery or school setting preferred)

Knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures (Food Hygiene Level 2 or above desirable) and allergy awareness training.

Passionate about providing nutritious meals for young children

Reliable, well-organised, and able to work independently

Friendly and approachable with good communication skills

Must have a bright and happy personality, knowledgeable and work well within a team

Shift pattern

- 4 Days a week, 8.30am to 5.30pm. Days to be confirmed

An enhanced DBS will need to be obtained and the successful applicant will need to supply two references.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 14.00-14.75 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
