Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and passionate

Nursery Cook

to join our team. You will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0-5, while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks in line with dietary requirements and nursery policies. Ensure all food is prepared and served in accordance with food hygiene regulations and allergy guidelines. Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, following cleaning schedules and safety procedures. Follow the principles of the

Safer Food, Better Business (SFBB)

guidance and ensure documentation is up to date. Manage food stock levels, rotation, and orders in line with budgetary requirements. Collaborate with nursery staff to support children's nutritional needs and accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies.

Requirements:

Essential:

Valid Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or higher).

Essential:

Good working knowledge of the

Safer Food, Better Business

system. Previous experience in a kitchen environment (preferably in early years or care settings). Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow structured routines. Awareness of food allergens and experience with dietary requirements (training can be provided if needed). Friendly, approachable, and passionate about supporting children's well-being.

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
