Round and Round the Gardens Childcare are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for early childhood education and development, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to manage staff effectively, and a commitment to fostering positive relationships with children and their families. We also have a strong emphasis on outdoor play within our ethos due to our 5 unique outdoor gardens.
Duties
Full time, over 51 weeks of the year, we are closed for a week at Christmas. This is a 40 hours week, consisting of 4 x 10 hours days per week, 7.45am - 6pm. A day off per week.
Manage the overall operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Overseeing the intake of children at the nursery, staffing recruitment and deployment one a day to day basis.
Supervise and support nursery staff, providing guidance and training as needed to enhance their professional development.
Develop and implement engaging educational programmes that promote children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors.
Establish positive relationships with parents and caregivers, facilitating open communication regarding children's progress and wellbeing.
Monitor children's progress through regular assessments and observations, adapting programmes to meet individual needs.
Manage resources effectively, including budgeting for supplies and equipment necessary for the nursery's operation.
Organise staff meetings to discuss policies, procedures, and any issues affecting the nursery's functioning.
Requirements
A recognised qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (Level 3 or above).
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a nursery or early years setting.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
Strong knowlegde of Safegauding and the ability to train and support staff to ensure this is of utmost priority.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and staff and Nursery Owner
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing daily operations.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative when required.
A valid Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check will be necessary prior to employment.
Paedicatric first aid training and Food Hygiene Level 2, or will be willing to train.
