We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and highly motivated
Nursery Manager
to support the day-to-day running and strategic direction of our unique early years setting.
As Nursery Manager, you will oversee operations and ensure a high-quality, safe, and nurturing environment for children aged 0-5 years. You will lead the effective delivery of Curriculum for Excellence - Early Level, Realising the Ambition, and Together We Can and Will.
Key Requirements:
A passion for early learning and childcare, with a strong understanding of current legislation and guidance including GIRFEC, Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence, and National Standards for Early Learning and Childcare*. A keen interest in
outdoor learning
,
our natural world
, and
farming
, with the ability to inspire children through our unique environment, including interaction with animals and rich outdoor spaces.
Proven experience in leading a team, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, and supporting high-quality learning experiences.
Strong administrative skills including managing fee payments, producing annual Quality and Standards and Improvement Plansfor South Lanarkshire Council (SLC), submitting annual returns, and managing funding applications.
A confident communicator with advanced IT skills and experience working collaboratively with third parties including ASN support workers, educational psychologists, health visitors, speech and language therapists, and local authorities.
Experience in preparing for and responding to inspections from the Care Inspectorate and Education Scotland*.
Qualifications:
A
BA in Childhood Practice
or an equivalent SCQF Level 9 qualification which meets the requirements for registration with the
Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
as a Manager of a Day-Care of Children's Service without conditions*. Candidates must ensure they are eligible to register with SSSC prior to applying and will be responsible for their own registration fees and ongoing registration requirements.
What we offer:
Full-time, 40 hours per week over 50 weeks per year.
