Artemis Childcare Limited have three settings across St Leonards and Hastings and are looking to find a dynamic person to join our management team , at our site in Hastings.

We are committed to providing exceptional early childhood education in a warm and nurturing environment. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to guide, inspire, and lead a team in delivering high-quality care and education to children.

As the Nursery Manager you will play a pivotal role in shaping the daily experiences of children in your care. Leading by example, you will oversee the operations, ensuring a stimulating and supportive environment that promotes each child's individual development.

Ideally this role would be Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm but this is negotiable for the right candidate.

Your role as Nursery Manager will include:

Induct, support, and train all staff to ensure a high quality of childcare and education is received by all. Support staff retention and team building through effective communication, succession planning and team engagement. Have a child centred approach to the running of the nursery, ensuring the observation and planning process meets the needs of all children and their interests. Daily management and monitoring of all health and safety practices. Understand the importance of keeping everybody safe and support Artemis' Designated Safeguarding Lead [DSL] on all matters that ensure the safety of all our children and families. Deploy staff effectively to maintain staffing ratios in accordance with statutory regulations. Encourage an environment of continuous professional development including a commitment to update own knowledge through a range of sources.
Essential Skills and Experience Required:

A full and relevant level 3 Childcare qualification and Maths GCSE. Relevant safeguarding training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly. Previous Nursery Management experience. Able to communicate clearly with adults and children using a variety of techniques. Project positively the company's goals, procedures and policies to parents, staff, and the children. Motivate, inspire, and lead a team, encouraging team effort. Provide coaching and mentoring. Able to manage the performance of others and succession plan. Have the willingness to learn and develop ICT skills and our Software system. Able to manage workload and manage time effectively to deliver the desired results.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Support our Designated Safeguarding Lead to promote the health, safety and welfare of children and employees and families in line with our child protection and keeping everyone safe policies and procedures. Responsibility to make referrals to external agencies. Set a high standard of behaviour across the setting. Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver exceptional care and education and provide feedback to create a consistent approach of early years practice to include but not limited to regular Supervisions and Appraisals, Room Observations & Peer Appraisals. Continually work in partnership with colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals to meet the individual needs of the children ensuring a diverse and inclusive approach is maintained at all times. Ensuring internal audit processes and requirements are met in line with company expectations. Ensure internal policies and procedures are adhered whilst also meeting the external legislation and guidelines from our governing bodies.
Desirable Experience:

At least 2 years of working within the Early Years Sector as a manager or Deputy Manager.
Qualifications Essential:

Full and relevant Level 3 and or above (equivalent) Childcare qualification Current Paediatric First Aid GCSE Maths

Pay: 30,000.00-35,000.00 per year
