We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate

Nursery Manager

to join our Management Team at Monkey Puzzle Hartley Wintney.

The Role:



As a Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for providing professional leadership and management of the nursery and its staff, and successfully managing the day to day running of the nursery, delivering high quality standards of care and education for all children. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with the owners and practitioners to create an environment where children truly thrive. Your leadership will be key in fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes learning and development, and motivates your team.

The role is for

4 days (44 hours including paid lunch break) per week

between the hours of 7:30am and 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary of 38,000.00-41,000.00 per year (dependent on experience and qualifications).

Key Responsibilities:



Leadership and Management:

Provide strong leadership to the nursery team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Develop and implement policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practices. Together with the Directors, manage staffing levels, recruitment, and ongoing professional development for the nursery team. Mentor new staff and apprentices, supporting their learning needs and ensuring they consistently meet the criteria to excel in their qualifications.

Child Welfare and Safety:

Together with the Deputy Manager, act as Designated Safeguarding Lead. Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children in the nursery. Oversee the maintenance of a clean, organized, and safe learning environment. Conduct and regularly review risk assessments, and implement necessary safety measures.

SEND:

Create a culture of excellence, warmth, and inclusivity. Help to identify and support children (and colleagues) with additional needs, making necessary adjustments and referrals where necessary.

Curriculum Development:

Working alongside our Curriculum Coordinator, implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for each playroom that aligns with early years learning frameworks. Foster creativity, independence, and a love for learning among the children.

Parent and Community Engagement:

Establish and maintain lasting, positive relationships with parents, carers and families. Proactively promote and represent the nursery to current and potential parents/customers, including in the wider community.

Financial Management:

Together with the Directors, manage the nursery's budget effectively ensuring efficient use of resources. Monitor enrolment and implement strategies for growth and sustainability. Please note that you will not be responsible for invoicing, payroll or funding, as our Directors manage these tasks.*

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum of Level 3 in Early Childhood Education. GCSE Maths at Grade C or above. Paediatric First Aid Certificate. Food Hygiene Level 2 Qualification. At least 2 years' proven experience in a managerial role within a nursery or early childhood education setting. Knowledge of and adherence to Ofsted requirements. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Passion for early childhood development and a commitment to providing quality childcare.
