Working alongside senior management, the Nursery Manager will lead the team, implement a high-quality curriculum, and support the growth and success of the nursery.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Early Years
Deliver the nursery curriculum to provide the foundation for children to thrive and develop their abilities.
Ensure compliance with statutory early years standards to safeguard children's health, safety, and wellbeing.
Promote and model best practice in safeguarding at all times.
Provide professional, welcoming, and high-quality customer service to families and visitors.
People
Contribute to a supportive and inclusive working environment where staff feel valued and motivated.
Promote equality, diversity, and respect, ensuring the workplace is free from discrimination and bullying.
Work collaboratively with the team to achieve the nursery's objectives, focusing on positive outcomes for children.
Support and guide Room Leaders and deputise when required.
Health and Safety
Comply with all legislative and organisational requirements relating to health and safety.
Proactively manage risk and role model safe working practices.
Support the development and implementation of risk assessments.
Commercial and Marketing
Present a positive image of the nursery during parent visits and enquiries.
Participate in promotional events and marketing activities.
Engage with social media and other platforms to raise the profile of the nursery and attract new families and colleagues.
Building and Resources
Ensure the nursery's equipment, resources, and facilities are well maintained.
Monitor and request replenishment of resources in a timely manner to avoid disruption.
Leadership
Work as part of the senior team to provide exceptional care and education.
Model best practice and support staff in all aspects of nursery operations.
Create an environment that nurtures creativity, imagination, and learning.
Effectively lead, manage, and inspire the team.
Role Requirements - Essential:
Experience of working with children aged 0-5 years.
Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Level 3 Childcare qualification or above.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a busy team environment.
Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and colleagues.
Experience of delivering high-quality customer service.
Desirable
Previous leadership and management experience.
Experience with safer recruitment practices.
Additional early years training or qualifications.
Experience of developing and implementing marketing initiatives.
Commercial awareness and understanding of nursery operations.
