Nursery Manager - Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Manager to lead the daily operations of our setting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in early years education and management, with a passion for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children thrive. This role requires excellent leadership, safeguarding knowledge, and strong communication skills to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory standards. Lead, support, and develop staff through supervision, training, and appraisals. Ensure high standards of care, learning, and development for all children, including those with SEND. Maintain effective communication with parents, providing updates on progress and wellbeing. Manage administrative tasks including record-keeping, budgeting, recruitment, and quality assurance. Promote the nursery within the community and uphold a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience in a nursery/childcare management role. Relevant childcare qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to drive is desirable. Genuine passion for early years education, safeguarding, and children's wellbeing.
