Shardlow Hall Day Nursery is a family business dedicated to providing a home-from-home environment where children and parents/carers feel like part of our family. We opened our doors in 2012, offering excellent childcare for children aged 0-11 years in a safe and stimulating setting.

Summary:

We are seeking a passionate Nursery Nurse to join our team at Shardlow Hall Day Nursery located in Shardlow, Derby. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality care and education to our children, ensuring their needs are met in a nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-11 years. Create a safe and stimulating environment that promotes learning and development. Build strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues. Plan and implement engaging activities that meet the individual needs of each child. Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records. Support children's emotional and social development through positive interactions. Collaborate with the nursery team to uphold the highest standards of care. Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Essential Requirements:

Qualified in early years Level 2, 3 or above.

DBS Certificate on the update service (this can be obtained through us). Clean criminal record. Passionate, caring with a real drive to deliver the very best possible care for the children. Reliable and enthusiastic. Experience working with children in a nursery setting. Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements:

You must have a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.

You must be able to laugh at jokes you don't understand, or find funny.

You will have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child requests that you be a captain of a pirate ship, you will be the very best captain pirate you can be.

You must feel comfortable telling everybody in the same room as you, that you are going to the toilet.

The ability to sing in tune is not essential, however the ability to sing out of tune in front of a crowd is.

You must be able to distribute warm hugs as required.

You will possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is the utmost importance.

You must be comfortable entering public places on the way home from work, with unknown substances on your clothing.

You must have a high level of comfort around talking about bodily functions. You must have a strong sense of smell to enable you to respond to said bodily functions.

You can pretend to eat playdough creations realistically and drink numerous cups of pretend tea.

You must have the ability to read a ten page fairy tale, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.

You must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.

Finally you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to our many young children and their families.
