To assist in ensuring that all children attending the setting are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
To assist the manager and deputy manager , in ensuring that all legislation in relation to registration with regulatory bodies, special needs, safeguarding and Health and Safety is complied with.
To lead, mentor and manage team members to ensure they are meeting the requirements and ethos of setting.
To work alongside the Manager and be responsible to open/close the nursery and assist the Manager in the day to day running of the nursery.
Key Responsibilities
To have a sound knowledge of the Safeguarding responsibilities and procedures to follow.
To adhere to all company policies
To assist the Management in carrying out supervisions and performance management reviews for your team members.
Carry out any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by Management.
Attend and Chair Meetings.
Requirements
The ideal candidate would hold a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience in a full day care setting for children aged up to 5
Hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification or higher
Paediatric first aid certificate (desirable)
Sound knowledge of health and safety and children's development
A sound knowledge of Safeguarding procedures
Skills and abilities
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, parents and outside agencies
The ability to prioritise, plan and organise workload accordingly.
