We are expanding our wonderful team here at The Lighthouse! We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
Responsibilities
The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for supporting the Room Leader and working as part of a team.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to education.
Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning atmosphere that encourages participation and exploration.
Provide high-quality childcare in a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being of each child.
Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining records of their development and communicating findings with parents.
Foster leadership skills by guiding teaching assistants and supporting their professional growth.
Drive initiatives that promote early childhood education best practices within the nursery setting.
Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
Supervise children during activities, meals, naps, and play.
Experience
A recognised, full and relevant Level 2 in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is essential.
Previous experience working with children in a nursery or educational setting is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children and families.
Proven ability to manage room dynamics while maintaining a positive learning environment.
Experience in developing age-appropriate educational activities that stimulate children's curiosity and learning is advantageous.
