Job Description

As a Baby Room Practitioner, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Room Leader with the daily care and development of babies aged 3 to 24 months. You'll help to create a

calm, safe, and nurturing environment

where every baby is supported through secure attachments, sensory play, and tailored routines. From bottle-feeding and nappy changes to early communication and tummy time, your presence and professionalism will shape their earliest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Baby Room Leader in the day-to-day running of the room Provide warm, responsive care to meet each baby's individual needs Carry out feeding, nappy changing, sleep routines and comfort care Plan and implement age-appropriate sensory and physical activities aligned with the EYFS Monitor and record each baby's progress through observations and learning journals Promote strong partnerships with families, supporting parental confidence and trust Maintain excellent hygiene and safeguarding standards at all times Gently mentor junior team members or apprentices when needed

What We're Looking For

Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent)

Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a baby room or under 2s setting Sound understanding of child development in the first two years Confident with routine care: feeding, sleep, nappies

Paediatric First Aid - mandatory

Strong grasp of safeguarding, health & safety procedures Calm, patient, and emotionally attuned to babies' cues and needs A warm, reliable, and nurturing team player
