About the Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated

Nursery Practitioner

to join an early years setting and support the development, learning, and wellbeing of children aged 0-5 years. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children. Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Support children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development. Maintain accurate observations and developmental records for each child. Build positive and professional relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues. Ensure the setting meets safeguarding, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times. Assist with daily routines including meals, nappy changing, toileting, and rest periods. Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development. Encourage children's independence and confidence through play and learning.

Requirements

Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification

(or equivalent). Experience working within an early years setting (preferred but not essential). Knowledge of the EYFS framework. Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team. A caring, patient, and positive attitude. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Desirable

Paediatric First Aid Certificate. SEN experience or interest in supporting additional needs. Ability to contribute to creative planning and activity ideas.
