We opened to children in September 2023 and are currently registered to accommodate 57 children within three separate rooms, and we are looking to expand in the near future.
Based in the North West Leicestershire countryside, we are motivated by The Curiosity Approach, which will complement the Early Years Foundation Stage, offering a high level of education for every child. Our activities will be in the moment and child led. The successful applicant must be able to work as part of a strong staff team, be supportive and enthusiastic and eager to get involved. We are a free-flow nursery with lots of interaction with the outdoor surroundings, based in a beautiful wooden lodge located on an alpaca park farm in a beautiful, picturesque village.
We will consider level 2 or level 3 qualified individual.
Daily responsibilities:
To ensure the well-being, health, safety and welfare of children in line with our "keeping everyone safe" policies and procedures.
Tend to the basic needs of children when required, such as toilet training, feeding and washing.
Plan and coordinate a range of rich learning opportunities that support the development of children's numeracy and literacy skills, whilst also incorporating "in-the-moment" planning where possible.
To work as a key person to a group of children, supporting their needs & working closely with their families, to support their development. Confidence in communicating with parents is important, as we believe parent partnership to be paramount and one of our key values.
To work as part of the team within the daily rota of allocated positions/job tasks.
Ensure the setting's safe practices / Policies & Procedures are familiar and always adhered to.
An interest in CPD - continuing to further existing knowledge within childcare practices.
Qualifications/experience required:
Early Years Educator, level 3 (recognised as full and relevant on the government website). Will also consider level 2 for the right candidate
Experience of working with children aged 0-5 years old
An interest in The Curiosity Approach and the outdoors
To be aware of and have experience with online Management System (daily diaries, observations and development checks).
A good standard of numeracy and literacy - GCSE English and Maths at grade C or equivalent
Enhanced DBS check (requirement to sign up to the government Update Service)
Paediatric First Aid trained (training can be provided)
Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation stage and safeguarding practices
Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
The setting is open Monday to Friday from 07:30 - 18:00, 51 weeks of the year, only closing for Bank Holidays and a week at Christmas.
This position is full-time (40 hours a week), 4 or 5 day rota considered. No term time only contracts available. We could accommodate a part time role of min 30 hours.
