Childcare HR are recruiting on behalf of Mossley Hill Childcare.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Room Leader to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing a nurturing and safe environment for children, ensuring their developmental needs are met while fostering a love for learning. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in early childhood education, with the ability to effectively communicate with both children and parents.
Responsibilities
Lead and Support Your Team:
Supervise and guide early years practitioners in the room, offering mentorship, feedback, and support to maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
Create a Stimulating Environment:
Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate learning activities that support children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
Ensure Safety and Compliance:
Maintain a safe, secure, and hygienic environment for all children by strictly adhering to health, safety, and safeguarding policies.
Observe and Record Progress:
Regularly assess and document children's individual progress, recognizing key developmental milestones, and reporting to parents and the nursery manager.
Build Strong Relationships:
Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's development and addressing any concerns.
Support Smooth Transitions:
Assist with settling-in sessions for new children and ensure smooth transitions between age groups, creating a comforting and supportive experience for each child.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, contributing to the overall growth and improvement of Mossley Hill Childcare.
Experience
A qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is essential (preferably Level 3 NVQ in Childcare).
Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is required.
Proven experience in an early years setting, ideally in a leadership role.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
A genuine passion for childcare and early years education, with the ability to drive children's learning through creative activities.
Experience in managing nursery routines and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and staff is highly desirable.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
