Job Outline: Nursery Supervisor

Reporting to: Nursery Manager

Principle duties:

Play a major role in the day-to-day operation of the Nursery. Supervisors will have specific responsibility for the operation of the unit to which they are appointed. Specific duties will include:

Ensuring nursery policies and procedures are adhered to by all members of the unit team Ensure all relevant forms and paperwork is completed and filed accurately Oversee staffing levels within the unit (including rota, breaks and applications for leave) Attendance and contribution at all staff meetings Production of monthly/daily activities sheet Undertake grievance and disciplinary procedures Coach and develop staff Ensure equipment/materials in unit is maintained satisfactorily Contribute to maintaining a Health and Safety environment in the nursery Ensure confidentiality is maintained.

Essential Criteria:

NVQ level 3 in Early Years Education and Child-care (or equivalent qualification) A minimum of 1 years experience working in a childcare room leader/supervisor role Good written and verbal communication skills Flexible - be prepared to change hours/work additional hours to ensure the safe operation of the nursery Ability to build a good rapport with children, parents and colleagues Good interpersonal skills Ability to handle sensitive issues tactfully.

Desirable Criteria:

Additional certificates eg. Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Fire Warden, Food Hygiene certificates
As this role is an integral part of the growth and development of the Business, commitment, flexibility and adaptability will be required to a considerable degree to meet quality standards. In addition, flexibility is an essential requirement of the Adventures Day Nursery team and the jobholder will be expected to participate in duties not specific to this role as and when required.

Pay: From 13.50 per hour
