. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills, support a passionate team, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality childcare and education for children aged 0-5.

As

Third in Charge

, you'll play a key role in supporting the leadership team to ensure the smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of the nursery. You'll also act as a senior practitioner, leading by example in your room and stepping into management duties when required.

Key Responsibilities



Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy in the day-to-day running of the nursery. Lead and supervise your designated room, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Act as a role model for staff, promoting best practice in care, learning, and child development. Plan, deliver, and evaluate age-appropriate activities in line with the

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

. Support and mentor team members, providing feedback and guidance to enhance performance. Maintain accurate records, assessments, and reports in line with safeguarding and compliance requirements. Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Contribute to operational tasks such as rota planning, resource management, and quality improvement. Step into management responsibilities during the absence of senior leaders, ensuring continuity across the setting.

About You



We're looking for a dedicated, proactive professional with a genuine passion for Early Years education and a desire to progress into leadership.

Requirements:



Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Early Years Education or Childcare (essential). Experience working in a nursery environment with some supervisory or senior practitioner responsibilities. Excellent knowledge of the

EYFS

,

safeguarding

, and early childhood development. Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills. A positive, hands-on attitude and the ability to motivate and support others. A commitment to providing outstanding childcare and learning experiences.
