Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Band 3 Nursing Assistant to join our team on Cubley Court Male, an Older Adult inpatient ward . You will be supporting the care of older adults from Derby and Derbyshire who have been diagnosed with Organic mental illnesses.



Please note, as our wards provide a 24-hour, year-round inpatient service, flexibility to work across a variety of shifts will be required.



As a valued member of the team, you will deliver high standards of person -centred care showing empathy, patience and understanding at all times.



We work as part of a multi- disciplinary team, and you will work within the Trust Core Care Standards and always promoting independence, recovery, and service user dignity. You would be an active and supportive member of the team.



As a Nursing Assistant you will be actively involved in delivering direct patient care under the supervision of qualified nurses and be accountable for the reporting of the care you give to qualified nursing staff.

Providing care and support for patients who are acutely mentally unwell



Spending 1:1 time with patients



Escorting patients off the ward



Completing levels of observations with patients



Engaging patients in therapeutic activities



Completing physical observations and general physical check



Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team to make changes inpatients' care



Supporting patients with their ADLs



Managing difficult situations



Providing support to other wards across the unit



Responding to patients when they are distressed
