Job Description

As a nursing home manager in a 49 bed care home, rated Good overall , you will be responsible for all the strategy and tactics in managing the service, all aspects of day to day operations within the setting including recruiting and managing staff, managing budgets and ensuring the services provided meets national minimum care standards.

You will have experience in managing complex needs of care, including dementia, end of life and other health conditions.

The care service is a 24 hour, round the clock service and you will usually work about 40 hours per week. However, you may have to work shifts, evening and weekend work, occasional sleep ins and some on-call duties in case of an emergency.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and management to the service by determining their policies and procedures, establishing commmercial feasibility and working seamlessly with the multi-disciplinary team and the wider health partners. To ensure the highest ratings are achieved in CQC and Council/CCG inspections and the Food Standards Agency. Recruit, train and supervise staff on an ongoing basis without resorting to agency. The staff in the service should be up to date with training needs including mandatory training. All equipment used in the service should be up to date with Loler testing and all regulatory standards. Assess new referrals, care assessment is completed on any leads for people looking to move into the home within 48 hours of the lead being obtained. To maintain occupance of 90% at all times. Ensure delivery of person centred care Lead by example Organise activities for residents and actively promote their independence and dignity. Provide care and support to individuals in the home, nursing and residential care Ensure that activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation are provided of the highest qulaity Ensure medications as prescribed and administered as per internal and external regulatory policies Monitor and report any changes in the individual's condition Maintain a clean and safe environment for the individual and infection control process and procedures are effectively followed Ensure that users are provided appropriate companionship and emotional support Safeguarding, whistleblowing and duty of candour are adhered to the highest standards
Requirements:

Previous experience in a leadership position with a Nursing Pin in the UIK and/or Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management in elderly care Knowledge of medication competency assessment and administration is required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and follow instructions Compassionate and patient demeanor Training competencies as needed for the role Clean DBS and Driving licence

Pay: 42,000.00-45,000.00 per year
