Nurture Teacher

Job Description

Nurture Teacher (Secondary) required for our Communication and Interaction School

We are looking to recruit a secondary practitioner with a willingness to be adaptable to work within the primary or secondary phase with KS2 and /or 3. This would mean delivering their non subject specialism across classes and the potential for intervention teaching, with a focus on subject specialism, within Key Stage 4. For primary trained applicants this would mean utilising their knowledge of skills from the Primary curriculum to then extend knowledge of the Key Stage 3 curriculum within our setting. The classes are based on a nurture approach which means the young people are taught in the model of a primary classroom to limit transitionsions.

This is an exciting opportunity to change lives in a challenging but highly rewarding environment. Our staff are committed and dedicated to helping establish and grow this school as an outstanding provision for young people with communication and interaction needs. If you are skilled and committed to adapting your teaching to meet the individual needs of students, come and join our team. The role will include being a form tutor, planning and delivering learning within all areas of the secondary curriculum to a Key Stage 3 cohort of pupils. You will also plan and deliver our bespoke social communication curriculum and work with pupils to develop life skills that prepare them for their next phase of education.

The Fusion Academy, a school for children and young people aged 7-19 with communication and interaction needs and/or autism, supports 92 pupils. We are located in a purpose built school in Barwell. The Fusion Academy is part of a Multi Academy Trust called Open Thinking Partnership.
