Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality therapeutic services to individuals with diverse needs. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist, assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapy programmes that promote independence, wellbeing, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering individual and group therapy sessions. Support service users in developing daily living skills, social skills, and coping strategies. Encourage engagement in meaningful activities that promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing. Prepare, adapt, and maintain therapeutic equipment and resources. Observe, record, and report service users' progress, behaviours, and responses to therapy. Support care planning and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions. Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment in line with professional and organisational standards. Encourage service users' participation in community integration and rehabilitation programmes. Undertake administrative tasks such as maintaining accurate records and updating care plans.

A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting recovery and independence.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous experience in a healthcare, mental health, or social care setting (desirable but not always essential). NVQ/QCF Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (advantageous). Willingness to undertake training relevant to the role.
