At Hardy-Tunstall Engineering Ltd we specialise in providing engineering solutions in both civil and structural engineering. Our team of skilled engineers and technicians operate from our head office in Hitchin.

With over 20 years of experience, we have worked across various sectors, including industrial developments, automotive sector projects, water authorities, power stations, educational institutions, private residential developments, large house builders, listed properties, and airport authorities.

Job Summary


Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a highly organised and proactive Office Administrator to join our team. The proposed hours for this role are 10am - 2pm, 2 days per week, with potential to increase to 3 days in the future.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing weekly and monthly administrative tasks, supporting office operations, and ensuring smooth communication across departments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organisational skills and experience in office management to contribute to a professional and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities



Manage incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, directing enquiries appropriately Organise and maintain digital filing systems, ensuring easy retrieval of information Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and maintaining calendars for staff members Prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations as required Raise and issue invoices Maintain office supplies inventory and place orders when necessary Support team members with administrative tasks to enhance overall productivity Ensure the office environment remains tidy and organised at all times

Experience



Proven office experience or administrative background is essential Proficiency in computer skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively Excellent typing skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally via phone and email with clients and colleagues Previous clerical experience is advantageous but not mandatory if the candidate demonstrates strong organisational abilities and willingness to learn
