Shirley Park is an renowned 18 hole members golf course sitting among the rolling hills of the Surrey countryside. The club was officially opened on 18th July 1914, by the then Lord Mayor of London, Sir Thomas Vansittart Bowwater. The club has a membership of over 550 who enjoy the facilities of a bar and lounge area, two function rooms and a busy kitchen.
Applications are invited to apply for the position of a full time Office & Events Assistant. To assist in the day-to-day operations of the Club. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm, and professionalism, with a can-do attitude. A proactive individual who is always looking to build on past successes. A good level of competency in using Microsoft Office and other computer-based software. Experience in working within the operations of a golf club or leisure facility an advantage but full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Office Administration
Provide day-to-day administrative support to the General Manager.
Have the ability to work autonomously to filter and prioritise incoming work.
Manage incoming calls, emails, and member enquiries professionally and efficiently.
Maintain accurate club records, databases and filing systems.
Assist with membership administration, renewals and correspondence.
Prepare letters, reports and meeting documents as required.
Event Support
Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of club events, including competitions, social functions and private bookings.
Liaise with members, suppliers, and staff to ensure event requirements are met.
Prepare event materials such as signage, seating plans and menus.
Communication & Member Relations
Support the preparation of newsletters, event promotions and member communications (email, website and noticeboards).
Maintain an up-to-date club calendar and assist with marketing club activities.
Build and maintain positive relationships with members, employees and service providers.
