Job Description

You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks relating to the company's operational, accounting and administrative systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a fast paced growing company. Key areas of responsibility will include the following:

Co-ordination



Running daily, weekly and monthly reports, updating various internal trackers, logs and spreadsheets; Updating the company with KPI statistics; Co-ordinating regular and one-off meetings including taking minutes, documenting actions and monitoring progress; Liaising with colleagues to roll out new processes and procedures, resolve issues and increase productivity; Other tasks associated with organising a team.

Finance & Accounts



Settling insurer statements, identifying/resolving discrepancies and ensuring prompt payment of invoices; Liaising with customers and insurers to resolve payment queries; Dealing with premium finance providers, processing and auditing payments; Credit control tasks including running aged debtor reports and invoicing customers; Processing refunds promptly and accurately; Running daily/monthly cashbooks and month-end reports; Book-keeping and accountancy tasks including entering accounting information into Sage, reconciling bank accounts etc.

Compliance



Preparing FCA monitoring data and industry surveys.

Administration



Opening post, scanning onto system and distributing to other staff members; Filing and archiving.

Additional Tasks



Liaising with our customers, insurers and other partners in a friendly and professional manner; Writing processes, procedures, specifications and other documentation; Find ways to improve our existing processes, procedures and infrastructure; First point of contact between company and selected external parties; Running occasional company errands; Organising travel and accommodation for management; Managing office stationary and supplies; Other reasonable tasks as required by the company.

Personal Specification



Academic



Strong academic background with preference for degree level candidate; 3 grade 'B's or above at A-Level are desirable, although not essential; CII qualified preferred but not essential.

Numerate with excellent analytical and data interpretation skills; Strong character with excellent communication skills; Excellent problem solving skills; Strong organisational skills with the desire to improve processes and procedures; Ability to work within a team and on own initiative; Confident and able to remain calm under pressure; Flexible approach to work; Ability to manage projects successfully against tight deadlines.
Applicants must also be permanently eligible to live and work in the UK.

Experience:



Insurance, E-Commerce, or Financial Services : 2 years (Preferred but not essential); High level of Microsoft Office Packages, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint: 2 years (Required); Office Management: 2 years (Required); Experience in Sage Line 50, Sage 200 or other Accounting Software (preferably with a good working knowledge of account system administration and producing daily cash flow projections for the company accounts).

Education:



A strong academic background (preferably at degree level), and strong A level (or equivalent) grades (preferably B or above).
