Advantage Education is working in partnership with a forward-thinking school in Totton to recruit a highly organised and motivated Office Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator to take on a pivotal role in the smooth running of a busy educational environment.

About the Role



As Office Manager, you will be responsible for leading the school's administrative functions, ensuring efficient systems and processes are in place to support staff, pupils, and families. You will manage office operations, oversee recruitment processes, maintain accurate records, and provide high-quality support to senior leaders.

This is a varied role requiring excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise competing demands, and strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the school office. Oversee HR administration including recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining accurate employee records. Manage and maintain confidential data records in line with GDPR. Support with payroll processes, attendance, and staff sickness records. Ensure compliance with safeguarding, Ofsted, and the Single Central Register requirements. Provide administrative support to senior leaders, including clerking meetings and producing minutes. Coordinate internal and external communications, including website and social media updates.

About You:



Essential: Previous experience working in a school-based office role. Educated to GCSE grade A-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Proficient in using office software systems and confident with MIS/HR portals (e.g., SIMS, Integris, DES). Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, positive manner. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.

Desirable (but not essential):



Business or HR-related qualifications. Experience in payroll management, recruitment campaigns, or marketing via social media. Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and Trust/academy governance.
