We are looking for a dynamic and experienced

Courier Services Manager

to lead our courier operations, with a strong focus on medical logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day courier services, optimising delivery routes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering exceptional service to our clients in both the public and private healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management:

Oversee daily courier operations, ensuring timely and secure delivery of all consignments, especially time-sensitive medical items.

Team Leadership:

Manage and motivate driver teams across locations, ensuring alignment with the company's service excellence and safety standards.

Route Planning & Optimization:

Utilise strategic route planning tools to improve efficiency and reduce delivery times and costs.

Client Relationship Management:

Serve as the main point of contact for key clients, addressing concerns, managing expectations, and ensuring high satisfaction levels.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all courier activities comply with regulatory requirements, particularly around the handling of medical samples and equipment.

Performance Monitoring:

Track KPIs such as on-time delivery rates, customer feedback, and cost-efficiency. Use insights to drive continuous improvement.

Technology Integration:

Champion the use of real-time tracking and logistics management systems to enhance transparency and customer confidence.

Crisis Management:

Respond promptly to disruptions or emergencies, coordinating contingency plans to maintain delivery commitments.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience in logistics or courier service management (preferably in medical or time-critical delivery). Strong leadership and team management skills. Familiarity with logistics software and real-time tracking systems. Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities. Strong problem-solving and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle urgent deliveries with precision. Understanding of health and safety regulations in courier services.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain management, or related field. Prior experience in NHS or private healthcare logistics. Working knowledge of industry compliance standards (e.g., MHRA, ISO standards).
