An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Office Manager to join Newark Medical Practice located in Port Glasgow health centre. We are a friendly, forward-thinking, patient-centred, 3 partner training practice with a list size of approximately 4200 patients.

Our practice team is supported by a salaried GP, practice nurse, an ANP who undertake house calls, in-practice pharmacist team, CPNs, district nursing, health visitors, a links worker and access to a CTAC clinic to support chronic disease management and a treatment room. As a training practice we will host GP trainees at their different stages, and we also participate in undergraduate medical teaching of medical students from Glasgow medical school.

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Office Manager to support our practice manager in the day-to-day running of the surgery. Key responsibilities will include supervising and supporting the administrative team in their roles, upskilling staff, rota management of staff, including GP trainees, recall system management and deputising for the practice manager in their absence. Experience of working in an administrator or managerial role in a GP practice is therefore essential. Proficient use of EMIS, Docman and other relevant IT systems, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to lead, motivate and manage a team effectively are all crucial to this role. Innovation in improving systems processes from the administrative perspective to improve efficiency and ensure patient safety is desirable.

This post is part-time with flexible working hours to be discussed and salary is negotiable depending on experience.
