in Waltham Cross.
We are seeking a skilled, motivated and visionary
Registered Manager
to open, register and lead a new Ofsted-regulated therapeutic home for young people aged
10-17
. This is a rare opportunity to shape a home from inception, designing its culture, systems, and practice model to ensure long-term stability and exceptional outcomes.
As part of a growing organisation, the successful candidate will also have future opportunities for
dual registration
and broader operational leadership as the service expands. This role is ideal for ambitious leaders progressing towards multi-home management, Responsible Individual positions or senior operational roles.
Lead the Opening of a New Children's Home
Take full responsibility for Ofsted registration, commissioning, staffing and operational launch.
Influence every stage of development, from policies and systems to culture, routines and environment.
Build the foundations of a high-quality, therapeutic, trauma-informed service.
Build and Shape the Home's Ethos
Lead the development of a relationship-based, trauma-informed residential model.
Work collaboratively with senior leaders while maintaining genuine autonomy to design and implement outstanding practice.

About the New Home
Located in
Waltham Cross (EN7)
, this new therapeutic children's home will provide emotional safety, stability and high-quality care for young people aged 10-17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
As the
Founding Registered Manager
, you will lead the home through:
Ofsted registration and compliance setup
Recruitment and development of the new staff team
Policy and practice development
Trauma-informed model implementation
Pre-registration visits and full inspections
Your leadership will directly shape the home's identity, culture and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the pre-registration and post-registration process with Ofsted
Recruit, develop and inspire a brand-new residential care team
Establish robust operational systems, policies and quality frameworks
Embed trauma-informed, relationship-based care throughout the service
Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
Oversee rota planning, staffing levels, budgets and resource allocation
Implement strong safeguarding, risk management and behaviour support systems
Lead the home through inspections and ongoing quality assurance
Build effective relationships with local authorities, social workers and families
Contribute to service growth, including progression toward dual registration
What We're Looking For
Experience as a
Registered Manager
, or a
Deputy Manager
ready to step into a commissioning/registration role -
ESSENTIAL
Minimum
2 years' leadership experience
within children's residential care
Strong track record of safeguarding, compliance and delivering high-quality practice
Confidence and competence in leading setup, registration and early inspections
Level 5 Leadership and Management (or willingness to undertake)
Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
Deep commitment to therapeutic, trauma-informed residential care
Ambition to progress into multi-home or senior leadership roles
