Job Description

This secondment for Operational Lead is a good opportunity for a skilled manager to take a step up and gain experience in the busy world of Surgery. With services to manage across a wide range of areas including Theatres, Pre-Operative Assessment, Recovery, PACU (Post Anaesthesia Care Unit) and Critical Care, there are multiple areas for the individual stepping into this post to make a positive impact and demonstrate their ability to lead complex teams.



The post holder will be responsible for the operational delivery of performance and

governance for a large portfolio of clinical services. The services may run across both

hospital and community sites and cover services within and out of the hospital setting of

care.

Lead Theatres & Critical care directorate teams to ensure the efficient and effective

delivery of high-quality patient centred services, strategic planning, service development

and change programmes, driving innovation, modernisation and high levels of staff and

patient satisfaction.

Responsible for providing a key leadership role in all the delivery of financial, quality,

performance, local and national productivity, and workforce targets, as agreed through

business planning, appraisal, and personal development processes.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls to assure delivery of

financial management and the deployment of resources in line with the Trust's financial

plan and in accordance the Trust's financial governance requirements. This will include

delivering contracted activity levels and managing related pay and non-pay expenditure

within agreed budgets, achieving required levels of cost improvement and underpinning

service line profitability.

Lead the development and delivery of the business plan to ensure continuous service

improvement, quality, and financial efficiency. Lead on specific divisional or cross Trust

projects as required.
