As an Operational Safety Improvement Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in enhancing safety across Heathrow. You will coordinate risks, safety improvement, and support programmes to prevent and reduce harm to our colleagues, Team Heathrow, and our passengers.
Your primary focus will be to document, track, and evidence risk, resilience, and improvement plans, working closely with team members and external consultants.
Organising and controlling the delivery of cross functional improvement actions, such as safety behaviours, leadership, communication, and engagement both internally and working with Team Heathrow partners
Coordinating and the development of improvement opportunities/ideas and research problem statements using data and insight, observations and analysis
Ensuring that improvement activity is delivered, verified, evidenced and retained systematically
Assisting in the development of airside resilience plans & processes, training and exercising
Managing and owning the process for maintain risk registers including the requirements for horizon scanning and risk reporting
Managing and owning the process for tracking incident lessons and support in post incident analysis
Proactive team member with attention to detail
Keen interest in risk, resilience, safety and continual improvement
Experience of working and delivering change in an operational environment
Skilled communicator, both written and verbal
Ability to formulate clear and concise documentation, reports, and presentations
Ability to develop relationships across multiple stakeholders at a variety of levels
These skills are desirable:
Holder of (or working towards) a recognised Health and Safety or Risk qualification
Experience working within the airside environment, understanding aerodrome procedures and regulatory requirements
General understanding of project management techniques
Lean six sigma/CI background or experience
Experience using MS Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI)
