The role will involve providing strong practice leadership to allocated homes across the portfolio, taking responsibility for single or multiple locations that may require intensive quality improvement support to ensure we achieve our aim of being 90% good or above with the regulator.

The role will support on a range of projects that support our quality strategy and drives operational improvement across the portfolio. This is a high-profile role within the organisation and will involve multi stakeholder engagement as well as operating and adhering to our values and behaviours to ensure the people we support are heard. The role may be required to cover periods of absence for members of the Regional Management team and assume the responsibilities of Regional Managers and deputise for the Group Director of Operations.

Key Tasks



Work closely with the Regional Managers, Quality and Compliance Manager, and Group Director of Operations in the monitoring and embedding of an ongoing continuous operational improvement culture throughout the portfolio. To support homes to deliver agreed actions within approved timescales, as detailed on the Service Improvement Plan (SIP), which will have a positive impact on any operational challenges that have been identified. Be an ambassador for operational improvement communicating key initiatives and driving the message of "good" quality across all care services. Exercise strong practice leadership in a style and manner consistent with delivering best practice by positively influencing colleagues at all levels and encouraging a culture of continuous operational improvement. Work to develop and implement appropriate professional standards and monitor adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, to ensure continued compliance. This may involve supporting with the completion of service visits in areas of high-risk ensuring that high level feedback and actions are shared within 24 hours with a report and service improvement plan drafted and shared within 7 days. Responsible for ensuring site governance and robust systems, tools and processes are in place, and that sites have a working knowledge of these, to ensure compliance processes are implemented and audited effectively. This may involve being the Super User for one of our digital systems. Motivate, monitor, and coach Managers to ensure they are delivering services of the optimum quality. Develop manage and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders regarding complaints and incidents. Take the lead in overseeing and on occasions investigating serious incidents and S42 enquiries, as directed by the Director of Operations ensuring the identification, sharing and implementation of any lessons learned as appropriate. Support the development, review and updating of operational policies and procedures for care and support ensuring these reflect current legislation, best practice in service provision and full consultation with relevant team members. Ensure there is robust line management of any allocated team members, and that there are clear development plans in place to support progression. Under the direction of the Director of Operations operationally support individual services or a portfolio of services from time to time to achieve agreed operational improvement objectives. This will may mean extensive travel across the portfolio and staying away from home to be able to effectively support services. Lead the integration of acquisitions into the portfolio and take direct responsibility for individual or a portfolio of locations until allocated to a Regional Manager Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the organisation.

Criteria and Qualifications



Essenti

al Experience/Requirements: -

Experience in a Similar role, with a track record of success. Experience in an Operational Improvement role in care Experience with Managing internal and External Stakeholders Specialist knowledge in the regulation of the care sector, including but not exclusive to H&SC Act, H&S, MCA, DoLS etc Experience in managing large scale change A driving licence (this is a Company role and requires regular travel)

Qualifications



Relevant qualification and registration with a regulatory body (Social Work, OT, Nurse is desirable but not essential. QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management.

Special Skill or Knowledge



Commercially astute and articulate Specialist skill of Policy Writing and Implementation and Data Analysis. Experience of working with stakeholders to drive service improvement

Practical & Intellectual Skills



IT literate, and able to navigate systems, word, excel etc Ability to put together presentations and present to large groups Able to Deliver training

Personal circumstances:



Be flexible with working times, this isn't a standard 9-5 Take accountability for own actions and development. Be a car driver and have access to a vehicle. Be able to travel across the portfolio and accommodate overnight stays as required
