Job Description

The jobholder is responsible for leading Technical Production Team, Manufacturing Team and Dispatch Team, in the production of lateral flow devices. This includes responsibility for H&S, facility management, procurement, inventory management, logistics, quality control, machine management, planning, organizing and co-ordination of resources to ensure that production and efficiency targets are achieved and maintained.

As a member of the Operations team, this position is specifically responsible for managing of Production runs, manufacturing of lateral flow devices and dispatching of IFP products to the relevant quality standards. This will include the following:

1. To manage a production team, comprising Production Team leader/Senior production Technician and Technicians.

2. To assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of the department health & safety documentation system.

3. To ensure all team members operate within company and departmental health and safety guidelines at all times.

4. To have a strong working knowledge of all processes and procedures employed by production.

5. To be responsible for the generation and maintenance of relevant documentation and the accurate use and completion of such records at all times.

6. To be responsible for the day to day planning of all work performed by the team, and to ensure that adequate resource and machine capacity is always available to enable the production plan and production priorities to be met.

7. To provide regular progress reports, and to communicate changes or issues which may affect the production plan immediately to all relevant parties.

8. In collaboration with other key operational staff, to develop and introduce new processes and procedures, including the generation of validation protocols, as appropriate.

9. To be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of all relevant equipment.

10. To assist with the optimisation and improvement of all relevant processes, and to collaborate with other key operational staff to implement changes, as appropriate.

11. In collaboration with other key operational staff, to effectively assist in the investigation of production or process failures and to recommend and assist in the implementation of corrective actions, as appropriate.

12. To be responsible for the accurate transcription of data into relevant data storage systems.

13. To be responsible for the collection, monitoring and improvement of key process performance data and trends.

14. To be responsible for the efficient completion of all relevant Sage/Netsuite shop floor control transactions associated with production orders.

15. To be responsible for the procurement and efficient usage of all stock items associated with production team production orders, including accountability for SAGE/Netsuite cost variances.

16. To be responsible for the management and control of all production and manufacturing activities.

17. To assist in the selection, interview and recruitment of new staff into the Operations team, and the ongoing development of an effective successional resource plan.

18. To effectively manage all sales order and aim for 100% on time delivery.

19. To be responsible for stock control and stock checks for raw, materials, work in progress and Final products.

20. To collaborate with Sales, Accounts, QA and R&D.

21. To be responsible for updating the training records.

5 years Supervisory experience and good people skills are essential to this role.

The jobholder should have a good working knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO 9001/ISO13485), GMP, planning, efficiency monitoring and stock control.

The jobholder should demonstrate a high level of self-discipline and a logical approach to planning.

The role is multidisciplinary and requires the flexibility, motivation and confidence to tackle a wide variety of tasks, with frequent changes in priorities, with minimal supervision.

The jobholder must be numerate and literate and should show a strong mechanical aptitude. The ability to react quickly to diagnose machine problems and fix, where appropriate, is important.

This position is in a key area of Production and the jobholder must possess good negotiation skills and be able to communicate clearly too all levels of the organisation.

The job holder will communicate with members of all Departments on a daily basis and at all levels.

The jobholder will be required to work with outside contractors/suppliers with respect to the support, calibration and repair of equipment.

Compliance to completing documentation correctly and legibly.

Reduction in waste. Volume of product generated.

Quality of the product.

On time delivery on all sales orders.

The jobholder should be educated to degree level in a science or engineering-based subject, with several years' experience within a manufacturing environment.

Experience in lean manufacturing techniques.

Working in a ISO 13485 for at least 5 years.

Permission to work in UK.

Full UK clean Driving License

Pay: 55,000.00 per year
