St Christopher's School & Nursery is seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a key strategic role, responsible for leading all non-academic operations and ensuring the school runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
You will oversee a wide range of functions including facilities, compliance, HR support, finance collaboration, marketing, and community engagement. Your leadership will enable teaching staff to focus on delivering an exceptional, holistic education in a nurturing and well-organised environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all 'back office' operations and sit on the SLT as the most senior non-academic member.
Oversee facilities management and lead the Health & Safety Committee.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.
Collaborate with the central finance team.
Support HR processes including onboarding, training, and welfare.
Manage staff training requirements--statutory and additional--in line with budgets.
Liaise with the PTA to support community initiatives.
Lead local implementation of strategic projects including estates projects and IT upgrades.
Support marketing and promotional activities to enhance the school's visibility and reputation.
Identify and drive additional revenue opportunities through creative use of school facilities.
Person Specification
Essential:
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Commercial awareness and sound decision-making.
Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable:
Experience in property or facilities management.
Customer service orientation.
Experience in a school or complex organisation.
Degree-level education.
Experience managing training programmes and budgets.
