About the role
------------------
The Bartlett School of Architecture is seeking to appoint a full-time Operations Manager on a 1 FTE.
As Operations Manager for The Bartlett School of Architecture, you will lead a high-performing Professional Services team at one of the world's top institutions for architecture and the built environment. Working closely with the School Manager, you will ensure the smooth and effective delivery of key operational functions across HR, finance, facilities and space management.
You will provide strategic oversight of operational processes, championing best practice and ensuring that UCL and Faculty policies are implemented consistently and effectively.
This role is central to supporting the School's continued growth across sites in Bloomsbury and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. You will contribute to School and Faculty-wide committees, shape local policy implementation, and support new initiatives as the School evolves. With responsibility for financial control, space and facilities planning, and the delivery of excellent staff experience, you will be key to ensuring that our community of students, staff and partners receive an efficient, responsive and professional service.

The successful candidate will be an experienced operational leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. With a strong background in managing professional services, you bring confident line-management skills, the ability to navigate competing priorities, and a clear commitment to delivering outstanding service.
You excel at building strong professional relationships and communicating effectively with a wide range of colleagues, students and external partners. Highly organised and detail-driven, you are comfortable working under pressure while maintaining accuracy and sound judgement.
You will have proven experience in financial operations, customer service excellence and the development of efficient administrative processes. You're proactive, solution-oriented, and willing to contribute to School, Faculty and UCL-wide initiatives. Experience of HR processes, facilities management or working in higher education would be an advantage, but your ability to lead, motivate and support a diverse team is what is key.
Above all, you are someone who takes pride in enabling others to succeed and is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performing environment.
