The Operations Manager is responsible for driving the Hotel's operational objectives through strong, hands-on leadership and a commitment to excellence. With a solid Food & Beverage background, you will lead our F&B and Kitchen departments alongside our F&B Supervisors, ensuring the highest standards of service and compliance with food safety. You will develop and inspire the team, deliver outstanding customer experiences, control departmental costs and payroll and deputise for the General Manager when required.

About Us
Hotel Indigo, York hotel is a unique and trendy hotel set in the heart of York. The hotel boasts 103 unique bedrooms, with a funky and trendy Restaurant and Bar named No.88 Walmgate.
The team is very passionate, enthusiastic, and very energetic! The culture in the hotel is very important, and that is; trying to deliver the Hotel's goals and objectives whilst at the same time creating a fun and great work/life balance for all!
York Train station is easily accessible, the hotel is a 12 minute walk from the Train Station. There are plenty of drop off points all throughout York for bus routes in and out of the city, with a main bus route running past the hotel on Walmgate.

Role in our Family
Your day to day:
People
Manage everyday activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers
Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback. Create performance and development goals for colleagues, recognising good performance
Recommend or initiate any HR related actions where needed
Communicate and enforce policies and procedures
Engaging your Heads of Department to deliver exceptional customer service in line with the Brand Standards and metrics
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management
Driving and supporting the outsourced Housekeeping Manager to ensure brand standards are met, audits are passed, and the hotel standards are carried out daily, weekly and monthly
Financial
Leading the team to achieve objectives and KPI's set by the General Manager, including revenue generation from both Food & Beverage and Front Office, setting targets and maintaining incentives
Monitor and report variances against budget and control labour costs and other expenses.
Inspire and drive the referring of sales leads as well as upselling products and services where possible
Guest Experience
Establish and implement appropriate service recovery guidelines in order to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Respond to guest complaints or concerns in a prompt and professional manner
Review guest feedback and implement strategies for continuous improvement
Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information requirements and special needs for arriving VIP's, large groups, and other key guests
Lead marketing efforts to up sell guests on hotel services, offerings, and amenities
Responsible Business
Sharing responsibility with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the hotel passes all the health & safety brand audits, keeping up to date with legislations and best practices.
Maintain a focus and commitment to operating a "green" hotel
Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty or assisting in hotel departments to cover absence and holidays
