Role Summary
We're looking for a hands-on Operations Team Member to join our busy warehouse team. This is a physical, active role where you'll be responsible for the accurate dispatch and return of professional lighting and events equipment. Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll help ensure that equipment gets to and from shows on time, in perfect condition, and correctly documented.
This is a gateway role into the events industry - perfect for someone who enjoys physical work, stays calm under pressure, and wants to learn the business from the ground up. You'll gain broad hands-on experience across our equipment and operations, opening up career progression opportunities whether that's moving into supervision, specializing in technical workshops, or developing expertise in other areas of the warehouse.
The role is physically demanding - you'll be lifting, carrying, moving equipment throughout the day. During quieter periods, you'll also support other warehouse activities such as stock reorganization and workshop projects, giving you valuable exposure across the whole operation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Dispatch Operations
Collect, check, and prepare equipment for dispatch according to job paperwork and system requirements
Physically move equipment around the warehouse, load preparation areas, and organize for dispatch
Verify equipment condition and functionality before dispatch, acting as a quality checkpoint
Pack and protect equipment appropriately for transport to venue or client
Work with the logistics team to load equipment safely onto delivery vehicles, working with delivery drivers - this is physically demanding work involving lifting and carrying throughout the day
Update Hirehop system accurately to reflect equipment movements
Report any equipment faults or missing items to the Operations Supervisor or technical workshops before dispatch
Work with team members to meet tight dispatch deadlines, particularly during busy theatre production periods
Returns Operations
Work with the logistics team to unload returned equipment from vehicles and move it to appropriate processing areas
Receive and check returned equipment against paperwork, identifying any discrepancies
Inspect equipment for damage and report any issues to the Operations Supervisor and relevant technical teams
Assist the Workshops with cleaning and prepare equipment for storage or immediate re-dispatch
Physically move and store equipment correctly in designated workshop locations.
Process returns accurately in Hirehop, updating stock levels and equipment status
Identify patterns in equipment damage or issues and bring these to the supervisor's or workshop attention
General Warehouse Operations
Maintain an organized, efficient work area using good housekeeping practices
Follow all established procedures and work instructions to ensure accuracy and consistency
Participate in daily team briefings, sharing information and raising any concerns
Work collaboratively with team members across operations and other workshops
Assist with stock counts and maintaining accurate inventory levels
Support warehouse reorganizations, stock moves, and other projects during quieter periods
Contribute ideas for improving processes and making work more efficient

Experience & Skills
Willingness to undertake physical, manual work in a warehouse environment (training provided for equipment-specific tasks)
Ability to stay calm and organized when working to tight deadlines
Good attention to detail when checking equipment and processing paperwork
Basic IT skills and comfort using computers, tablets, and handheld scanners
Ability to follow procedures accurately and consistently
Clear communication skills for working effectively with team members

Physically capable of sustained manual handling including regular lifting, carrying, and moving equipment throughout the working day
Able to be on your feet for extended periods

Previous warehouse, logistics, or events industry experience
Interest in or knowledge of professional lighting and events equipment
Experience using inventory management or hire systems
Understanding of the theatre or events production industry
Forklift license or experience using powered warehouse equipment

Operate warehouse equipment safely including pallet trucks, scanners, and tablets
