On our estate we also run a biodynamic farm which provides food for those living in our houses, as well as sales to local organic outlets.
We have built on the success of the farm and have converted farm buildings into studios for our Day Services offering a range of craft, IT and artistic activity - greatly enriching the lives of those people with learning disabilities who have a thirst to develop new skills within a working environment.
We are now looking to launch a new out-of-hours provision with activities for adults with learning disabilities from both our Thornage community and across north Norfolk.
We are recruiting to two new roles - Out of Hours Activities Leader and Out of Hours Activities Support Worker. Both positions are part time and will take a key role to help develop, lead and support this out-of-hours provision initially over a 12 month period, but with the potential to extend further. The provision will promote social interaction, creativity, health and wellbeing and provide opportunity for individuals to increase skills and self-confidence.
We will offer out-of-hours provision one Saturday each month and one evening bimonthly. This role is perfect for anyone looking to try working in social care or to take on a role in addition to an existing job.
If you are caring, supportive and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, then we are keen to hear from you. Successful applicants must undergo a DBS check and hold a full driving licence.
The Support Worker will have strong skills in facilitating and supporting individuals to build friendships and work positively together. They will be key in ensuring the smooth running and high-quality delivery of activities, helping to ensure structured, safe and engaging activities appropriate for all.
