Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic out of school club assistant to join our setting. The ideal candidate will support the other staff in delivering engaging and effective activities and fostering a positive learning environment. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about working with children and eager to make a difference in the lives of young learners.

Responsibilities

Assist the other staff in planning and implementing daily activities that meet curriculum standards. Support students in their learning activities, providing guidance and encouragement as needed. Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment conducive to learning. Supervise students during activities, breaks, and transitions to ensure their safety and well-being. Prepare materials and resources for activities, ensuring they are organised and readily available. Communicate effectively with children, parents/carers, and staff to foster positive relationships within the setting. Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and training sessions as required.

Qualifications

A relevant childcare qualification is required. Previous experience in an educational setting or relevant qualifications in childcare would be advantageous. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children of varying ages. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to support planning and classroom management. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when required. A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that respects diversity among students.
