The business of sport at UW goes from strength to strength, the prime purpose being to contribute to the quality of the student experience via support for academic and extracurricular programmes in a range of related courses, placements, employment, and volunteering opportunities.
This current instructor role is primarily to support the delivery of activity, mentoring and the practical components of academic pathways for students and external clients of the University of Worcester Lakeside Campus across all activities (land, water and aerial) and in doing so meet the necessary statutory Health & Safety legislation (AALA), Governing Body Requirements, and Internal Quality Standards (LOTC, AdventureMark, Ofsted)
Alongside delivery, daily duties will include, setting up and taking down of the equipment, preparing for academic practical sessions and community bookings, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment across the campus and all associated facilities as necessary, dealing with enquiries from all customers, supporting the equipment inspection and decommissioning process, while ensuring a good standard of health and safety operational practice is maintained throughout.
This post will provide good practical industry-based knowledge, with around 250hrs worth of shadowing, training and assessments, which may include Paddlesport instructor and Open Water Lifeguard qualifications. This will undoubtedly give you a range of transferable skills that will be an asset to your CV.
NB: This is an hourly paid role and there is no guarantee of work, the onus is on the successful appointees to attend as much of the paid shadowing, training and assessments as possible,
