Scale:

14.54 - 15.60 per hour

Hours:

37.5 hours
with the opportunity for you to pick up regular overtime/ additional hours

Essential:

Full UK Driving Licence with use of own vehicle for the role

Supported Accommodation Senior Manager

Community Based / Outreach (Calderdale, Kirklees & Bradford)

The role involves supporting young people living in our supported living accommodation.

We are an innovative children and young people's social care team, looking for the right person to join us in our age-16+ supported accommodation service as an outreach worker.

You don't need a long list of qualifications for the role, you just need to have the ambition to support young people in their journey of independence, taking their next steps towards a healthy, fulfilling life. This is a varied and interesting role for the right person where you will visit young care leavers at their own accommodation within the community.

Supporting and helping young people to progress will be fundamental to the role. You'll help them to become more confident with everyday practical skills, such as budgeting and making medical appointments, as well as encouraging the longer-term aims of learning and work.

Every step in independence you support a young person with contributes to their wellbeing, security and happiness. You will be fully supported in the role by a proactive, experienced team, learning skills to help you progress a career in young people's social care, with one of the best training packages in the industry.

Main responsibilities of the role:

1. Develop and maintain a good level of awareness of safeguarding, protection issues and the individual procedures required to promote the safety and well being of each child / young person, and to act/raise any concerns regarding children / young people with the appropriate key professional and managers.

2. Be committed to Restorative Social Care Services 'Culture of Awareness' Policy and actively promote the safety and well-being of children & young people by reporting

any

concerns which might compromise their safety.

3. Maintain/create and quality assure accurate and up to date plans, reports, assessments and records of the work undertaken with children / young people for use by other staff and agencies.

4. Attend all mandatory and service specific training required to undertake the role and to maintain/develop competence to administer medication in line with Restorative Community Services Policies and Procedures.

5. Work pro-actively with children / young people who may present challenging and at times socially unacceptable behaviour.

6. Organise and undertake activities with children and young people as directed within context of safe boundaries

7. Supervise Contact between children / young people and designated parents / carers / others as specified in conjunction with organisational policies and guidelines for good practice.

8. Contribute towards risk assessments and care / support planning for children and young people

9. Ensure petty cash and financial expenditure is recorded accurately and produce expenditure monitoring returns every week.

10. Undertake such other tasks as may be deemed appropriate to the post and the remit of the service.

The work of the Restorative Social Care Services is both varied and challenging which results in some unpredictable circumstances. There is an integral need for all employees to be flexible in response to situations that arise outside of this job description. Additional duties will most likely be required to cover unforeseen circumstances or changes in work that maintain staff activity and quality of service provision.
