Job Overview


Blue Box Design specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke presentation boxes for high-end spirits, gourmet food, fine gifting and luxury textiles.

We are looking for a Packaging Technologist with Graphic Design expertise to join our innovative packaging design and manufacturing team. This dual-role position bridges the gap between structural packaging development and creative visual design, ensuring our packaging solutions are not only functional and sustainable but also visually engaging and brand-accurate.

The ideal candidate would have a background or training in product / packaging design. Experience working directly with customers to develop, enhance and modify prototypes. They will need to be skilled, accurate, flexible, and proactive to take on the challenge of a dynamic working environment.

Core Responsibilities



Develop and test packaging solutions for using various materials and designs to meet with the customers requirements.

Collaborate with clients, production, and account managers to ensure feasibility and manufacturability of packaging designs.

Evaluate packaging performance, sustainability, and cost-efficiency.

Stay up to date with packaging regulations, material innovations, and sustainability trends.

Produce technical drawings/specifications for packaging prototypes.

Design packaging artwork and print-ready files according to brand guidelines and print requirements.

Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to interpret briefs and develop visually compelling packaging.

Collaborate with print and production teams to ensure colour accuracy and print feasibility.

Create samples, visuals, and presentations to support sales and client proposals.

Person Specification



Knowledge of product / packaging design with an understanding of structural packing design

Proven experience of research & development

Experience of product design software - For example Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCAD, IC3D (Conversion training will be provided on specific software packages)

Quick learner who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and flexible with a hands-on approach to operate within a dynamic and high growth working environment

Excellent communication skills, confident and approachable

Motivated to strive for the best, to challenge and extend the boundaries of existing production capabilities

High standard of administration skills

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Meticulous, methodical, focused

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 29,000.00-40,000.00 per year
