Compass Associates are delighted to be working with a leading Private Hospital in Central London in their search for Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist. Our client has over four decades of expertise at providing the highest level of care for patients who are looking for the best treatment in key areas of healthcare, including: neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cardiac care, orthopaedics, acute neurological rehabilitation, gynaecology and cancer care.

Internationally renowned as a centre of clinical excellence, this private hospital is entirely dedicated to providing care to women and children. Their inpatient and outpatient specialties reflect this, providing clinical expertise in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Women`s Health.

The Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist will be involved in providing specialist assessment and interventions to their own caseload of children with highly complex needs. The role covers both inpatients and outpatients and the successful candidate will be able to work jointly with a range of specialist disciplines within the Multidisciplinary team. Therefore, an excellent standard of clinical, team working and communication skills are required.

Essential Requirements

\xe2\x80\x93 BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
\xe2\x80\x93 Current registered member of Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
\xe2\x80\x93 Experience working as a paediatric OT
\xe2\x80\x93 Knowledge and application of paediatric OT assessments and interventions relevant to a paediatric client group.
\xe2\x80\x93 Maintenance of up to date knowledge regarding developments in the field of paediatrics as pertaining to your field of work
\xe2\x80\x93 Ability to work autonomously and set own priorities
\xe2\x80\x93 Ability to analyse professional and ethical issues
\xe2\x80\x93 Ability to reflect and critically appraise one\'s own performance and that of others.
\xe2\x80\x93 Awareness of legislation and health and safety issues
\xe2\x80\x93 Excellent time management skills
\xe2\x80\x93 Demonstrated excellent proficiency in English verbal and written communication
\xe2\x80\x93 Demonstrated proficiency in using computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft word, PowerPoint and excel.

Duties & Responsibilities

\xe2\x80\x93 Ensure a professional, high quality occupational therapy service is delivered to the children and their families within our inpatient and outpatient service.
\xe2\x80\x93 Work as an autonomous practitioner. Assess, sets goals, provides treatment and progresses own patient caseload which, contains patients with complex and specialist needs
\xe2\x80\x93 Promote Occupational Therapy to all stakeholders.
\xe2\x80\x93 Undertake ongoing CPD and audit, contribute to development of specialist services and relevant policies helping implement policy changes and monitoring standards of clinical practice & additional tasks as required and considered pertinent to the role.
