Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter & Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial painting, with a keen eye for color theory and design. This role involves working on various projects, including renovations, restorations, and new constructions. The Painter & Decorator will be responsible for delivering high-quality finishes while ensuring adherence to safety standards and project timelines.

Duties

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed. Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and airless paint spraying equipment. Read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements and specifications. Perform plastering, caulking, and trim carpentry to ensure smooth finishes on all surfaces. Collaborate with clients to select colors and materials that meet their vision while providing expert advice on color theory. Conduct maintenance tasks related to painting and decorating projects as required. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during the execution of tasks. Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized throughout the duration of the project. Assist in construction site activities as needed, including fixture installation, concrete finishing, masonry work, and industrial painting.

Experience

Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or construction painting is essential. Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus. Background in renovation or remodeling projects preferred. Experience with frame carpentry and trim carpentry is advantageous. Knowledge of basic math principles for accurate measurements and calculations. Ability to operate various hand tools and power tools safely; welding experience is a bonus. Previous maintenance person experience is beneficial for addressing diverse project needs. Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites is required. Pay: 13.72-21.54 per hour
