valid welding certification
, and have a strong understanding of modern vehicle repair methods and manufacturer standards.This role is ideal for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of repair accuracy, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out
panel repairs
to a high standard following manufacturer and insurer guidelines
Complete
structural and non-structural repairs
, including chassis alignment where required
Perform
full MET duties
(strip and refit) in line with job cards and repair plans
Undertake
welding operations
(MIG/MAG, spot welding, bonding as required) in accordance with certified methods
Assess damage and carry out repairs using approved repair techniques
Work closely with estimators, painters, and workshop controllers to ensure efficient workflow
Ensure all repairs meet
BSI, Thatcham and insurance standards
where applicable
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Complete all job documentation accurately and on time
NVQ / IMI Level 3 MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim)
Certified Welding Qualification
(with valid certificate)
Proven experience working in a
busy bodyshop environment
Strong knowledge of modern vehicle construction (steel, aluminium, bonded panels)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience working with
insurance-approved repairs
Knowledge of
ADAS awareness
and repair considerations
Experience with
manufacturer repair methods
ATA accreditation
