Job Description

Purpose of Role



To provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to the Conveyancing team at Charles Rose LS Ltd, ensuring the smooth progression of residential and commercial property transactions from instruction through to post-completion.

Key Responsibilities



Assisting fee earners with all aspects of residential and commercial conveyancing transactions. Drafting and preparing contracts, transfer deeds, and other legal documentation. Ordering and reviewing searches, title documents, and Land Registry entries. Preparing and submitting applications to HM Land Registry. Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors to ensure timely progression of files. Managing pre- and post-completion formalities, including Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) returns. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case management records. Handling client enquiries in a professional and timely manner. Providing general administrative support to the conveyancing team as required.

Key Skills & Competencies



Strong knowledge of residential conveyancing (commercial experience desirable). Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to manage a busy caseload under supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications & Experience



Minimum of 1-2 years' experience working in a conveyancing role (paralegal or assistant level). Law degree or equivalent (preferred but not essential). Experience with Land Registry and HMRC portals. Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in conveyancing.
